Spanish Immersion

At Cultured Kids, our Spanish Immersion Program goes beyond the limited exposure that many “bilingual” programs offer. Instead of just a few hours a week, children are immersed in Spanish every day through play, songs, stories, and meaningful interactions with their teachers and peers. This consistent exposure provides an authentic environment where children naturally develop the ability to understand and communicate in two languages.

By focusing on children during their earliest years—when language learning comes most naturally—we capture the unique window of rapid language development. At this stage, children absorb sounds, rhythms, and patterns effortlessly, without the barriers or biases that often come later. As a result, they don’t grow up with just a first language and a second language, but truly with two native languages and the cultural understanding that comes with them.

Creative
Curriculum

We use key aspects of The Creative Curriculum, an award-winning, nationally recognized program that integrates all the interest areas of a classroom—art, blocks, dramatic play, sensory, discovery, toys and games, and library. This approach blends intentional teaching with exploration and play, creating a research-based model that helps children learn in active, meaningful, and joyful ways. Through The Creative Curriculum, we honor each stage of development by adapting activities to meet the age and individual needs of every child. Learning takes place through hands-on experiences and projects that inspire curiosity and creativity. We also place a strong emphasis on social and emotional growth, guiding children as they build positive relationships, express their feelings, and resolve conflicts constructively. This curriculum enables us to provide a bilingual, personalized, and engaging education where every child feels inspired, valued, and supported to thrive.

Handwriting
Without Tears

At Cultured Kids, we use the Handwriting Without Tears program as part of our daily learning to support children in developing early writing skills with confidence. Our teachers integrate its multisensory activities—such as songs, movement, wooden letter pieces, chalkboards, and hands-on play—into the classroom so children can practice letter formation in fun and engaging ways. We begin with developmentally appropriate steps, focusing first on simple shapes and uppercase letters before introducing lowercase. This approach helps children strengthen fine motor skills, build proper pencil grip, and enjoy the writing process. By combining this program with our bilingual curriculum, we give children a strong foundation for clear, legible handwriting while keeping learning joyful and meaningful.

Second Step

Second Step for Early Learning focuses on: Emotional regulation – teaching children how to recognize and manage their feelings (e.g., calming down when upset, identifying happy, sad, angry, or scared). Empathy and kindness – helping children understand others’ feelings, show care, and build friendships. Problem-solving – guiding children through age-appropriate strategies to resolve conflicts peacefully and make positive choices. Attention and self-control – strengthening focus, listening, and following directions to support classroom learning. The program uses songs, puppets, games, stories, and visual aids to engage children in fun, interactive lessons. Teachers lead short, consistent activities each week and reinforce the skills throughout the day during routines, play, and peer interactions.
